race rules
The Loburn 39 relays are conducted under the rules of Athletics New Zealand
All runners are required to only participate in the event on the understanding they adhere to the race rules (which includes H & S). Team leaders must agree on behalf of the team, their team agrees to abide by these rules before they receive their race packs. All runners must read and sign to acknowledge they agree to the H & S rules in order for a team to run - see the Health & Safety section.
Please note the minimum age of runners for the Loburn 39 relay is 14 years for all community teams and 17 for affiliated club teams also competing in the National Road Relay. Club teams requiring dispensation must complete this form and will receive an answer within 3 days .
Athletics Canterbury runs these relays as volunteers and the rules are used by competitors and officials to ensure everyone knows what is required to ensure the races are fair, safe and enjoyable for all.
We ask everyone to respect the spirit of the race and if in doubt, talk to the race referees in a calm and amicable manner. The referees are volunteers too.
